What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer, smartphone, or tablet by us or by a third party (partner, advertising agency, etc.).
What is a tracker?
The term “tracker” covers any action that allows information to be read or written on your device. Cookies are one type of tracker.
What are they used for, specifically?
Cookies or other trackers can be used to operate the App or the Sites (functional trackers) or to learn more about your needs and habits, in order to offer you the best possible browsing experience. They are stored for a maximum of 13 months after your first visit to the App or our Sites.
Cookies or other trackers placed on your computer, smartphone, or tablet help us improve your experience on the App or the Sites. With your consent, we use the following trackers:
- Audience measurement trackers: these help us better understand how you navigate the App or the Sites (e.g., which pages are most visited). This allows us to generate statistics to improve our App and Sites and to follow trends. This tracker expires after 13 months;
- Advertising trackers: these allow us to show you ads tailored to your preferences and profile on our App and Sites, and to limit the number of times you see the same ad. This cookie expires after 13 months.
We also use the following functional trackers, which do not require your consent:
- Session tracker to maintain your login once you’ve signed in on the Site or App. This cookie expires once your session ends;
- Tracker to ensure shopping cart functionality, so selected products remain in your cart as you navigate the Site or App or return later, providing a smooth shopping experience. Without this, the cart would reset. This tracker expires after one month;
- Tracker to remember language settings. This tracker expires after one year.
Am I required to accept cookies and other trackers?
When you first visit the App or our Sites, we inform you about the different cookies and trackers placed on your device and ask for your consent to use them. This gives you control over the use of your data. Your consent is then stored for six (6) months. This prevents us from asking you every time you visit. At any time, you can change your preferences: simply click on the cookie and tracker management tool at the bottom left of your screen.
Each of our partners using cookies and trackers has their own terms of use. You can view them on the "Manage my cookies" page, under the "Partners" category. Some of these partners are members of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). This organization brings together online advertising players and aims to develop standards or conduct research in this field.
One last thing: your consent is itself stored using a tracker. If you delete all trackers stored on your device (you can do this in your browser settings), or if you connect from a new device, we will no longer know which choice you initially made. Your consent will then be reset, and a window asking you to accept or reject trackers will appear on your next visit to our Sites or App.
How can I limit the placement and reading of trackers by configuring my browser?
At any time, you can configure your browser to allow or block trackers on your device, either systematically or based on their source.
However, please note that browser settings do not replace your choice regarding the placement and reading of trackers on the App or Sites.
Please note that each browser is configured differently. You can access its help menu to find out how to change your settings.
